 Aphaenogaster feae to ciekawie wyglądający gatunek mrówki występujący w Azji. Spotkać je możemy w Indonezji, Filipinach, Malezji, Indie i Pakistanie, Bangladeszu oraz Chinach.

To właśnie z Chin trafia na europejskie rynki większość okazów tego gatunku. Niestety zdecydowana większość tych mrówek jest błędnie zidentyfikowana i trafiają na rynek jako Aphaenogaster beccarii. Jest to spowodowane faktem iż mało osób poprawnie identyfikuje mrówki a sprzedawcom jest to bez różnicy pod jaką nazwą sprzedają dany gatunek. Do tego dochodzi fakt iż te dwa gatunki są bardzo podobne i występują na tym samym terenie.

Praktycznie brak jest badań naukowych i informacji na temat tych mrówkek jednak ich dostępność i popularność wskazują na dość pospolite występowanie.

Aphaenogaster feae is an intriguing species of ant found in Asia, particularly in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and China.

The majority of specimens of this species reaching European markets come from China. Unfortunately, a significant portion of these ants is misidentified and enters the market labeled as Aphaenogaster beccarii. This misidentification arises due to the challenge of accurately identifying ants, and sellers often find it inconsequential under which name they market a given species. Additionally, the fact that these two species are quite similar and coexist in the same geographical area contributes to the confusion.

There is a scarcity of scientific research and information regarding these ants, but their availability and popularity suggest a relatively common occurrence.
